Our newly renovated Sleep Center has the latest state-of-the-art technology to monitor and record sleep cycles. Sleep rooms are equipped with either a Tempur-Pedic or pillow top mattress for an ultimate sleep experience. The team consists of certified sleep technicians and results are analyzed by a board certified sleep specialist. A comprehensive report is sent to the referring physician within 3-4 days.
What is a Sleep Study?
A sleep study is a noninvasive, pain-free test which monitors heart-rate, blood pressure, brain activity during sleep. Patients are tested in private rooms that have a home-like setting.
Sensors are gently placed on the skin so that sleep patterns can be monitored. Patients are free to read, relax, or watch TV until they are ready to retire. A low-light video camera allows a technologist to monitor the patient from a nearby room. The technologist will enter your room only if a sensor comes loose or if you need to use the bathroom during the night.
Nearly everyone falls asleep during the study, but most people do not sleep as well as they do at home. This will not affect the results and in most cases, a full eight hours of sleep is not necessary to find the source of a sleep problem.
Upon waking in the morning, the patient is released to go about his/her normal routine.
A physician order is required for a sleep study. Schedule your appointment by callling (419) 824-3434.
