24 Hour Emergency Care

Community Memorial Hospital provides Hicksville and the surrounding areas with access to emergency care 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our emergency room is staffed at all times with physicians who are experienced in emergency medicine. You can rest assured that help is just minutes away with professional round-the-clock emergency care.

Community Memorial Hospital's goal is to provide the best patient care possible. If a transfer becomes necessary, patients are transported quickly and safely to the facility of their choice via helicopter or ambulance.

  • Care is provided to patients of all ages with varying levels of illness/injuries (minor to critical condition). 

  • All staff is knowledgeable about the growth and development of patients served. 

  • All RNs are competent to recognize and care for all types of patients including those with life threatening emergencies. 

  • All RNs have completed additional training in Critical Care. 

  • All RNs are certified in Basic Life Support, Advanced Care Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support and are knowledgeable about the signs and symptoms of child/adult abuse or neglect and domestic violence.

  • Additional certifications held by staff include Trauma Nurses Core Courses (TNCC), Certification in Emergency Nursing (CEN), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), and/or STABLE (STABLE stands for the six assessment and care modules in the program: Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood pressure, Lab work, and Emotional support.). 

  • Lab, Radiology, Respiratory Therapy, Surgery, Anesthesia, and Obstetrics are available in house or on-call 24hr/day. 

  • Pharmacy is available 24/7 with medications delivered through the Pyxis system. 

  • Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE) are available on an on-call basis 24 hr/7days a week for victims of sexual abuse.
