Our Team

It takes a skilled, enthusiastic team to provide the high level of personalized service found at Community Memorial Hospital. Regardless of their daily role, we believe that, ultimately, every team member contributes to the care and well-being of our patients and visitors.

Business Office

The Business Office handles billing and collection of payments for the hospital, its physicians, and for the Family Health Centers.

Dietary/Food & Nutrition Services

The Dietary department is responsible for all food-related activities throughout the hospital. Dietary also manages the Columbus Street Café, providing meals for visitors, team members, and the public. Our registered dietician provides nutrition education to inpatients, outpatients, and the community, and serves as a consultant to the physician in all areas of diet therapy and nutrition.

Emergency Department

Community Memorial Hospital provides Hicksville and the surrounding areas with access to emergency care 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our emergency room is staffed at all times with physicians who are experienced in emergency medical care.

Facilities Management

The Facilities Management department is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all hospital facilities to ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and team members.

Financial Services

The Financial Services department carries out accounting functions including accounts payable, payroll, materials management, and is responsible for all financial reporting functions.

Health Fit Rehabilitation & Wellness

The Health Fit department provides physical, speech, and occupational therapy and cardiac rehabilitation for both inpatients and outpatients. This department also houses a community fitness center that offers exercise equipment, free weights, and fitness classes open to the public.

Health Information Management

Health Information Management (HIM) is responsible for overseeing the timely processing, completeness, and retrieval of all patient medical records. A medical record is maintained on every patient treated at the facility and medical record services are provided to all areas of the facility. HIM also processes patient requests for medical records information in accordance with state and federal laws.

Housekeeping

The Housekeeping department provides all patients, employees, and visitors with a germ-free and safe environment by daily cleaning and disinfecting of patient and non-patient areas. The staff works closely with Facilities Management to ensure that our hospital and clinic facilities are maintained at the highest level of quality.

Human Resources

Human Resources provides the employment function for CMH including recruitment, selection, new employee orientation, and internal promotions/transfers. This department also maintains personnel files and records for all employees, monitors license and certification records on applicable employees, oversees salary administration including annual performance reviews/pay increases, and manages employee benefit administration.

Information Systems

The Information Systems (IS) department facilitates, coordinates, maintains and supports technological tools across the hospital and its clinics. IS provides support to all organizational computer users and facilitates the selection, acquisition, and implementation of information technologies.

Laboratory

The Laboratory offers a full range of comprehensive testing in a caring environment.  The laboratory is Joint Commission accredited and staffed 24/7 with certified, and highly trained phlebotomists who collect specimens and medical technologists who perform the actual testing. The function of the laboratory is to provide reliable, accurate results, in a timely manner.

Nursing

The Nursing department at CMH is comprised of RNs and LPNs who are committed to providing individualized quality care while integrating the family and significant others in obtaining wellness and maintaining health. Our team of nurses provides care on the patient floor, in the emergency room, in the obstetrics unit, in surgery, and in physician offices. 

Physician Services

The Physicians Services staff is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing all CMH physicians’ offices and team members, including the Family Health Centers and Specialty Clinics.

Radiology

Radiology staff provides diagnostic services including MRI, CT scan, Ultrasound, Mammography, Dexascan (Bone Densitometry), Xray, and all routine diagnostic radiology procedures. Staff is also charged with performance improvement monitoring and evaluation, quality control, and radiation protection for both patients and staff.

Registration

The Registration department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The department serves all patients who receive hospital services, including acute care inpatients, inpatient, and outpatient surgical patients, emergency room patients, ambulatory care patients, and patients who require testing in the Laboratory or Radiology. Registration staff ensures that required documents are completed and that current demographic, medical, and insurance information is obtained.

Respiratory

The Respiratory Therapy staff delivers individualized diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care procedure for adult and pediatric patients including:  oxygen therapy, aerosolized medication therapy, chest physical therapy, incentive spirometry, mechanical ventilation, CPR, airway care, pulmonary function testing, breath alcohol testing, pulmonary and cardiac rehab, arterial blood gas testing, treadmill stress testing, echocardiogram testing, EEG testing, OB care, electrocardiogram and holter monitor testing.

Social Services

The Social Services department offers general social work services to inpatients, outpatients, and their families. Services offered include discharge planning, placement services, psychosocial assessments, short term counseling, information and/or referral, and arranging transportation needs. The Social Services Department seeks to ensure that each patient receives a continuation of health care after hospitalization and is matched with the appropriate resources in the community.

Surgery

Our Surgery department maintains two operating rooms and a special procedure room. Our surgery teams perform approximately 800 surgeries each year in the following areas: Orthopedics, General Surgery, OB/GYN, Podiatry, Pain Blocks and Urology.
