RN – Med Surg (17.14) PRN, (45.14) PT (0.6), (50.14) PRN (0.3), (4.15) PRN (18.15) PT (0.6), (20.15) PT (0.6) Is responsible to assess patient/family needs; plans, implements, evaluates, and coordinates care for patients. Participates in patient and family education. Provides leadership by working cooperatively with all ancillary and patient care team members. Consistently demonstrates standards of professional nursing practices in all clinic settings. Graduate of an accredited nursing program and currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Ohio. CPR certification is required; ACLS, PALS and Neonatal certifications are recommended. Prior hospital experience preferred but not required.
RN – OB (15.14) PRN (21.15) FT (0.8), Is responsible to work under the direction of the physician providing a professional nursing assessment and initiating nursing care to patients presenting in the OB department. Determines the stages of labor of OB patients and the well-being of neonates. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to child-bearing women and newborn infants. Must have the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status, and interpret the appropriate information to identify each patient’s needs in relation to age, Hospital, and department policy. Relates effectively with other departments of continuity of care’ maintaining satisfactory relations with physician, ancillary departments, and other nursing units. Participates in all phases of education, maintenance of records, and review and enhancement of current policies, procedures, and skills. Graduate of an accredited nursing program and currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Ohio. CPR and Neonatal certification are required; STABLE, ACLS and PALS certification preferred. Must successfully complete AWHONN within one year of hire.
RN – OR (2.15) PRN is responsible to assist in the nursing care and preparation of surgical patients. Participates in the preparation of reports relative to surgical procedures. Functions as a member of the surgical team creating and maintaining a sterile field. Directs proper care and storage of supplies and equipment used for operating room and the emergency room. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient care in the immediate postoperative period. Mandatory call rotation requires 30 minute response time. Graduate of an accredited nursing program and currently licensed to practice nursing in the State of Ohio. BLS, ACLS and PALS certification are required.
Surgical Technician (3.15) PRN is responsible to assist in the nursing care and preparation of surgical patients. Functions as a member of the OR sterile team, creating and maintaining a sterile field and issuing instruments to surgeons. Maintains proper care and storage of supplies and equipment used for operating room and emergency room patient care. Mandatory call rotation requires 30 minute response time. Graduate of an accredited ORT/surg tech program with current CPR certification. Must be competent in performing skills and operating equipment specific to assigned department. This position involves operating numerous pieces of equipment/machinery including sterilizers, washer disinfector, MV-1 (Olympus Scope Reprocessor), and power equipment. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients of all ages. Must have good organizational skills, computer knowledge, and excellent verbal communication skills.
Med Tech or MLT (6.15) PRN, (11.15) PRN is responsible to perform chemical tests on body fluids and exudates; studies morphological constituents of blood, isolates, and identifies bacterial agents present in various specimens; and performs blood bank procedures to provide diagnostic data for physicians necessary in the treatment of diseases. Assists in clerical duties of the department and performs skilled phlebotomy procedures including venipuncture, capillary collection, and bleeding time tests. Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, as well as ASCP or equivalent certification is required. In the event of a new graduate certification is required within an agreed upon time frame, preferably one year. BLS required.
Dietitian (8.15) PT (0.5) is responsible for planning and organizing the activities of the Food and Nutrition Services Department to provide quality food services for patients, customers of the Columbus St Café, recipients of the Hospital’s Meals on Wheels program, and special events. He/she provides a consultative role to the Food and Nutrition Services department to assure compliance with standards of practice and regulatory requirements. Provides nutrition education to inpatients, outpatients, and the community, and serves as a consultant to the physician in all areas of diet therapy and nutrition. Works closely with the Food Services Department team members and the food committee. He/she also works closely with team member wellness, occupational health, weight management and other hospital nutrition related education programs. This position requires successful completion of requirements for dietetic registration with The American Dietetic Association. The individual must also be licensed to practice in the State of Ohio.
